Below we try to answer these and similar questions as clearly as possible.

A few phrases are enough for an answer that explains enough.

In the latest scouting council in Lukovištia, no consensus came out. Some decided to stay there and started a seed camp. Others – amongst which most of the Slovak scouts – were against that location, because of various reasons. One of their objections is that the seed camp is quite close to the village. The council did not end up in a consensus and the scouts who were against, left.

We do not know who is right. We have not yet been there. On the other hand: it is crystal clear that there is no consensus amongst those who have taken care for scouting.

At present, one of us, Steve Ceri, is on his way to the seed camp or he already arrived there. Two or three of the Slovak scouts are accompanying him. Steve is from Britain, lives in Czech and speaks both Czech and Slovak. The Slovak scouts who accompany Steve are Ji?i, Monika and Edo – the three of them know the country very well. Together with Steve, they try now to find consensus with the sisters and brothers in the Lukovištia seed camp.

Finally – what can be the consensus:

either Lukovištia, but with a clear arrangement with the local authorities;, or …
some other location to be agreed upon.
We know that a good arrangement with the local authorities can possibly take away much of the Slovak objections. On the other hand it is still possible that some other location can be found and accepted by consensus.

Whatever consensus will come out, we will accept it – the core issue for us is that the Circle needs to end up in SOME CONSENSUS.

This is the best explanation we can give right now. We are simply looking for some way to best serve the Rainbow Family of Living Light.

Finally, we would like to say the following. If you have time now and are really interested to help to solve the problems, find consensus or help with the seed camp, consider going to Lukovištia as quickly as you can. Via the autoresponder [email protected] you can find enough info now to find the seed camp.

Tomorrow (Wed. 11 July 12), I expect to get an SMS with the new Slovak number of Steve Ceri; after receiving it, I will publish that number at this forum as soon as I (Bas) can.

4. Help needed in the Grow Camp: for moving it to the Gathering!

Dear Family!

First of all: we can understand perfectly well your impatience. Dozens of e-mails are coming in each hour, together with a lot of phone calls… Also we personally want clarity about the location now or really soon. Moreover, it’s important to take into account the garden sisters and brothers – they want to move the garden to the place where the Gathering will take place. Because of several practical reasons, they need clarity really, really soon. Besides from this, a few “invitations” are already circulating at the internet: for a gathering at the place where the seed camp area is now.

On the other hand: there is still a team of predominantly Slovak scouts – Monika, Edo, Jikta, Janek and Steve. Steve is the only non-Slovak amongst them, but he speaks both Slovak and Czech next to his mother tongue English.The three Slovaks have useful connections with local and regional authorities – local administrations, police officers and others who are able to give the permission we need to start the European Gathering. Because of his language and diplomatic skills, Steve is a very useful intermediary with the rest of the Rainbow Family. At present, I am in touch with this team several times per day. In this update, I summarise what Steve and his Colleagues have been telling me the past 48 hours.

The past few days, Steve, Edo, Monika and Janek have fruitlesssly tried to get permission from local authorities for a European Gathering in location where the seed camp is now. In the mean time they also have had a Circle with the seed campers. The decisions from this scouting council can be summarised as follows. The seed campers will do a 2nd attemt to get permission from authorities for a European Gathering there – they have an appointment for Monday 16 July in day time. At the same moment, the Slovak scouting team will have an appointment with police officers elsewhere in the Banská Bystrica region – with a view to getting permission for another area where the European Gathering possibly can take place. After that talk with the police, the Slovak scouting team will return to the seed camp: with a view to having a final Scouting Council – aimed at reaching consensus after comparing all the options available at that moment.

According to Steve in a phone conversation a few hours ago, the place he and his Slovak fellow travellers found, is an excitingly beautiful natural area, about 10 times as big as the place available at the other location. Moreover – a few mayors and other regional authorities who deal with that specific area, already support them.The only authorities who still need to say “yes” are the police officers with whom they will speak on Monday. In one of their latest SMS messages, they write about this important talk:

“(…) We ask Family to send energy and love for succesfull meeting on Monday. Peace and love. Jitka, Steve, Edo (…)”.

However it may be, I am URGING at present both the Slovak scouting team and the seed campers to be soft, efficient and pragmatic on Monday evening: with a view to really arriving to consensus at that moment.

Steve has pointed me at one other important point of attention in this context. At the seed camp location, much of the infrastructure for the Main Area is already (nearly) ready: water pipes, kitchen, etc, etc. I can imagine very well that it must be a hard, tiring job to move everything to another location if the Monday evening consensus will end up in that direction. That’s why I call everybody who is able and willing to come to the seed camp location now or soon, to do so:
+ either for helping in case the consensus decision will establish the Gathering at the seed camp location, or …..
+ for helping to move everything to the new location with a view to rebuilding the camp there.

To finish this update, I dedicate a few words more the Grow Camp. Dino (Holly, Greg), who has contacted me about this initiative, has told me that he and his colleagues want to move the garden to the place where the European Rainbow Gathering will take place: either at the seed camp location or at a new one. That’s one of the other reasons I urge both the scouts and the seed campers to take a decision Monday evening. However it may be, if you have time to help a few days to move the garden, please, join the Grow Camp near Pliesovce, not far from the city Zvolen.
